The electric wheelchair market has grown rapidly in China, with a well-developed industry chain and even global reach. So, what exactly is the core cost of an electric wheelchair? In other words, which components determine its performance and lifespan? Let's take a look!

Motor
First and foremost, the motor is the power source of an electric wheelchair. Most electric wheelchairs are rear-wheel drive, with a motor for each drive wheel. The motor power on the market generally ranges from 150W to 250W. Some manufacturers advertise a 400W or 500W motor, but this is actually the combined power of two motors. Therefore, be sure to carefully consider this when purchasing!

Controller
The controller is the "brain" of the electric wheelchair. Its sensitivity directly affects the speed of starting and braking. In the past, controllers were primarily supplied by PG in the UK, but domestic controllers are now rapidly improving and their costs have significantly decreased. A good controller can ensure a smoother and safer user experience.

Battery
Finally, the battery is the "heart" of the electric wheelchair, and its battery life is crucial. Batteries are consumables, but they must offer excellent range and longevity for optimal value. Currently, there are two main battery options on the market: lead-acid and lithium-ion batteries. Lead-acid batteries are inexpensive but heavier, while lithium-ion batteries, while more expensive, are lighter. The choice of battery depends on your specific needs and budget.
